Protestors draft list of demands

Housing protestors present partial list of demands from government including reduction of indirect taxes and cancellation of national housing committees law

  Housing protest leaders are busy drafting a list of demands from the government. The National Student Union published several of the demands which were agreed upon as talks over other points continue.

Following is a list of partial demands included in the "Guidelines for a new social-ecomomical order" document:
• Reducing indirect taxes • Investing tax collection surpluses in citizens via state budget
• Canceling the national housing committees bill
• Increasing the Construction and Housing Ministry's budget on mortgages and rent, and increasing government aid
• Applying the Free Compulsory Education law to kids from age of three months
• Adding job posts, beds, medical equipment and infrastructures nationwide to match the OECD standard
• Halting privatization of welfare and mental health institutes
• Gradual cancellation of contractual work in the public sector

The leaders of the protest said that the list of demands will not be approved until they have discussed it with members of the public







in the coming days.
Earlier on Tuesday, the protest heads decided to unite forces with social organizations and set up new headquarters with representatives from all protest centers around Israel
